PM Modi pays tribute to singer KK, who died at the age of 53 after performing at a concert in Kolkata.

 KK, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, passed away on Tuesday in Kolkata at the age of 53. He was in town for a two-day concert when he became ill during a performance at Nazrul Mancha. "Around 10 p.m., he was taken dead to the hospital," a CMRI hospital employee reported.

KK was reportedly sick during the concert, according to sources. During the rest interval, he complained of being uneasy, but he continued to perform until the finish of the event. He was then brought to a five-star hotel in Esplanade, where his health began to deteriorate, and he died before reaching the hospital. On behalf of Gurudas College, the concert was put on. The singer was in town for a two-day performance.

His wife and two sons are scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on Wednesday morning.

People from many walks of life paid tribute to him as soon as the news of his death became public.
